Kuinam J. Kim founded the Korean Information Assurance Society on December 12, 2001. In March 2011, the association’s name changed to the Korea Convergence Security Association. Today, we are known as iCatse, which stands for Institute of Creative Advanced Technologies, Science, and Engineering. Since iCatse’s beginning, conferences have been held yearly with journals published quarterly.
In May 2008, the Korean Industry Security Forum was established, and the first conference ICISS 2008 (International Conference on Information Science and Security) was created.
After ICISS, many conferences were designed to promote the continual progress of research and education. iCatse absorbed both the Korea Convergence Security Association and Korea Industry Security Forum as one entity, creating a truly global and international educational movement. iCaste to further the education standards globally.
In May 2008, the Korean Industry Security Forum was also established which was followed by the first conference being held in 2008 which was named ICISS (International Conference on Information Science and Security). Since then many other conferences have been created to promote the continual progress of research and education. iCatse is a combination of both the Korea Convergence Security Association and the Korea Industry Security Forum as a single entity.
